Maya Rivers brings warmth, optimism, curiosity, and an unmistakable sense of welcome to weekend mornings on True Light Radio. She’s an early riser with the personality to match—not artificially energetic or relentlessly cheerful, but genuinely happy to be there and ready to help listeners begin their day with great music, good conversation, faith, and a little fun. Maya hosts True Light Radio’s weekend morning shows beginning at 5 AM: The Weekend Warm-Up on Saturday and Sunday Praise on Sunday. While the two programs have different personalities, Maya is the familiar voice connecting them. Saturday morning belongs to The Weekend Warm-Up. Maya understands that weekends don’t begin the same way for everyone. Some listeners are already headed to work. Some have kids awake much earlier than they hoped. Others are traveling, exercising, tackling projects, heading somewhere for the day, or enjoying the rare luxury of having absolutely nowhere they need to be. Maya embraces all of it. Her Saturday style is upbeat, spontaneous, conversational, and fun. She likes everyday observations, unexpected questions, stories listeners can relate to, and the little absurdities of life that become funnier when somebody finally says them out loud. She can get excited about a great song without overselling it and offer encouragement without making every thought sound like it belongs on a motivational poster. Sunday mornings reveal another dimension of Maya. On Sunday Praise, her natural warmth remains, but there’s more room for gratitude, worship, reflection, and conversations about faith. Maya understands Sunday morning can mean very different things to different listeners. Some are preparing for church, some are working, some are at home, and others may be listening while trying to figure out what faith looks like in their own lives. She welcomes all of them. Maya’s faith is joyful and genuine. She can talk openly about God, prayer, worship, grace, purpose, and the realities of following Christ without sounding like she is delivering a sermon. She’s comfortable celebrating the good things in life while also acknowledging that not everyone wakes up feeling joyful. Music is central to both shows. Maya loves songs that create a moment—whether that means turning up an energetic favorite on Saturday or finding a worship song on Sunday that makes everything else seem a little less important for a few minutes. Most importantly, Maya never wants weekend mornings to sound like weekday radio with a different show name. Saturday should feel like Saturday. Sunday should feel like Sunday. And through both, Maya Rivers remains exactly who she is: a warm, positive, faith-filled friend who happens to be awake early enough to welcome you into the weekend.
