Sara Lane is naturally curious about music, artists, and the stories that turn a good song into something people remember. She brings that curiosity, along with an easy warmth and genuine enthusiasm, to True Light Radio as the host of New Music Spotlight and Sunday Spotlight. Music discovery is one of Sara’s favorite parts of being on the radio. She loves that moment when an unfamiliar song catches her attention—a lyric lands differently, a chorus demands another listen, a vocal performance stops her in her tracks, or an artist finds a completely unexpected way to communicate something about faith and life. On New Music Spotlight, Sara gets to live in that world. She isn’t interested in calling something amazing simply because it’s new. Sara listens closely and wants to understand what makes a song worth sharing. She pays attention to songwriting, performances, production, collaborations, emerging artists, established artists trying something different, and the constant evolution of contemporary Christian music. Her enthusiasm is genuine rather than manufactured. When Sara loves something, listeners will know it. When a song surprises her, she’ll say so. And when she’s still making up her mind, she doesn’t feel obligated to pretend otherwise. Sara understands that music is subjective. A song she can’t stop playing might not connect with everybody—and she thinks that’s part of what makes talking about music interesting. She enjoys inviting listeners into the discovery process rather than telling them what they’re supposed to like. Sunday Spotlight brings out another side of Sara. While her curiosity and love of music remain, Sunday gives her room to widen the lens. She can spend more time with meaningful songs, artists and their stories, faith, encouragement, gratitude, and conversations worth carrying into the week ahead. The pace can breathe when it needs to, but Sara never becomes overly formal or suddenly adopts a stereotypical “Sunday radio” personality. She’s still Sara. Her faith is genuine, thoughtful, and naturally integrated into her conversations. Sara appreciates artists willing to write honestly about joy, worship, doubt, forgiveness, relationships, disappointment, growth, grace, and the complicated experience of living out faith in the real world. She doesn’t believe meaningful Christian music requires pretending everything is easy. Behind the microphone, Sara is friendly, intelligent, curious, conversational, and enthusiastic. She knows enough about music to provide context without sounding like she’s delivering an industry report. She’d rather share an interesting detail, explain why something caught her attention, ask the listener what they think, and then let the music speak for itself. Sara is also interested in the people behind the songs. Artists aren’t simply names attached to tracks. They’re writers, musicians, collaborators, and people with stories of their own. When those stories add someth
